Pocahontas ... Darted Forward and Thus Prevented My Death

A Book of Brave Deeds

The story of Pocahontas and the first successful English colony in the New World is famous because of its Disney adaptation. But it had a place in American folklore long before that. John Smith's life was saved by her, and for a time, there were friendly relations between the natives and the colonists.
