Ancient and Modern Initiation

By Max Heindel

Max Heindel (1865 - 1919) was  Danish-American Christian occultist, astrologer, Rosicrucian and mystic who wrote several notable books. He began life as a shipworker and engineer before moving to Los Angeles and joining the Theosophical Society in 1903 after attending lectures by Charles Leadbeater. He went on to serve the Los Angeles Theosophical Society as Vice-President and it was here that he began his study of the mystic arts. Ancient and Modern Initiation is a comparative study of humanity's initiatic practices that will be enlightening to both the Freemason and the inquisitive student of the Mysteries.
